LTL Freight Shipping Policy

1. Shipping costs
Freight is charged at a flat rate per unit, shown on every product page and included in the total you see before you pay. There are no surcharges added after checkout.

Outboard motors priced $1,500.00 and above ship with freight included, which is how the outboard market prices delivery. Outboards below that figure carry the standard $185.00 charge, because on a low-value motor the freight is most of the sale. Every other department uses the two bands above.
Freight quoted above covers delivery within the 48 contiguous states. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or internationally. If you need a quote for one of those destinations, call (209) 264-2179.
2. Handling and transit times
Orders confirmed before 1:00 PM PT Monday to Friday are prepared for carrier dispatch within 1–2 business days. Transit across the continental United States is typically 3–14 business days, so most orders arrive within 4–16 business days of payment. Remote destinations and weather can extend transit to up to 21 business days, which is the longest we ask you to allow before contacting us.
Transit time is an estimate provided by the carrier, not a guaranteed delivery date. Weather, terminal congestion and remote delivery areas can extend it.
3. Palletizing and packaging
Engines and motors are drained of oil and coolant before transit in compliance with federal freight safety regulations. Each unit is banded to a dedicated wooden pallet with heavy-duty steel or high-tensile poly banding, wrapped in industrial stretch film, and covered in weather-resistant wrapping.
4. Delivery options
- Commercial delivery. To a zoned commercial address with a loading dock or forklift. No liftgate needed.
- Residential delivery with liftgate. The carrier arrives with a hydraulic liftgate and lowers the pallet to curbside or driveway level. Tell us at checkout or by phone if your address is residential.
- Freight terminal pickup. Collect the pallet from your local regional terminal; their forklift loads it at no extra charge.
Carriers deliver to the curb or dock. They do not carry units into a garage, workshop or building, and they do not uncrate or install.
5. Inspect before you sign
This matters: inspect the pallet and packaging before signing the carrier's Bill of Lading. Once you sign clean, the carrier's liability for visible damage ends. If you see damage:
- Write “DAMAGED UPON INSPECTION” on the driver's copy of the Bill of Lading before signing.
- Photograph the pallet, packaging and damaged areas while the driver is present.
