Details & Inspection Notes

Rated for a lower 400 advertised horsepower, this bare Mopar-pattern automatic/manual StreetFighter transmission is sized for a milder build than some of the higher-rated units elsewhere in this range, with a longer 15.000-inch tailshaft and a 27-spline input shaft that set it apart from those other Mopar-pattern options.

Why the lower rating fits a different build

Not every street machine needs the highest-rated transmission on the shelf, and matching the rating to your actual power output helps keep shift quality and durability in line with expectations rather than overbuilding or underbuilding the drivetrain. First gear is 2.45:1, and output rides a slip-on yoke; the case itself is cast aluminum in the OEM pattern, with a stock-profile pan bolted underneath.

What to add before install

None of the usual extras ship in the crate: budget separately for a converter, a flexplate, a controller, and a harness, plus a cooler, fluid, and a dipstick. Hang onto your old speedometer driven gear and its housing if you're replacing an identical model, since new ones aren't part of this box. It is not lockup compatible. Sold individually.

Is 400 horsepower a ceiling to respect? Yes, treat it as the build's advertised limit for lasting durability. Why is the tailshaft longer here? It's specific to this part number's application; confirm length against your driveshaft before ordering.

Startup & Installation Checklist

  • Inspect all external gaskets, seals, spark plugs and timing components prior to installation.
