Details & Inspection Notes

Richmond's 1304000072 Super T-10 steps up to a 2.88:1 first gear, favoring stronger off-the-line acceleration than its close-ratio siblings while still carrying the same spline counts found across the T-10 line, 26 at the input and 32 at the output. A lightweight aluminum case and high-strength alloy steel gears keep the unit compact enough for an easy installation.

What a 2.88 first gear favors

Fourth gear's 1.00:1 direct drive keeps highway cruising reasonable even without an overdrive gear, so the taller first gear mostly shows up in how the car leaves a stoplight rather than how it behaves at speed. Fully synchronized forward gears and constant-mesh first and reverse keep shift quality consistent through that range, which matters as much for a weekend street car as for a dedicated racer, and the side-shift rail mechanism carried over from Richmond's other T-10 cases keeps that shift feel familiar.

Weight and fluid

Expect a dry weight near 70 lbs and a fill of about 2.4 pints of 80W-90 GL-4 lubricant. A bellhousing, shifter, and slip yoke do not come with the box, so budget for GM-pattern versions of each alongside a 26-spline clutch disc and a compatible pilot bearing.

What is the warranty on this transmission? Richmond covers this transmission for 1 year and 50,000 miles against defects in material or workmanship.
