Details & Inspection Notes

This used 2022 Mercury 115ELPT SeaPro Commercial is built on a 20-inch shaft with a lower 2.38:1 gearcase ratio, Mercury's duty-rated take on the 115 hp four-stroke for operators who run long hours rather than chase recreational top speed.

Why SeaPro is built differently

A lower, torquier gearcase ratio than Mercury's recreational FourStroke line suits continuous-duty work such as ferrying, guiding, or workboat use, trading some top rpm for pulling power and durability under sustained load; full throttle here sits at 5000-5500 rpm. The CARB star rating on this engine is 3, and shallow water trim range is 20 degrees.

Steering, starting, and what is included

This engine is Big Tiller compatible, with dual mechanical steering cables, an electro-hydraulic upgrade path for dual installs, and hydraulic power assist; checking your current control hardware against this list before ordering heads off an install that will not line up. The block is a single-overhead-cam inline four, 8 valves, with computer-controlled multi-port fuel injection, started by Smart Start electric ignition. Dry weight is 364 pounds, the gearcase is standard, and the propeller is sold separately in Phantom Black trim.

Is this engine rated for commercial use? Yes, SeaPro Commercial is Mercury's duty-rated line. What model year is it? 2022. Is a lower gear ratio slower overall? At the top end, somewhat, but it pulls harder at low speed, which matters more for a work boat than a quick hole shot.
