Details & Inspection Notes

The Dakota Digital VHX-67C-CAM-K-W is a VHX-series instrument cluster built for a 1967 Camaro, with a black face and white display, combining backlit analog needles with an LCD message center rather than relying on warning lights alone. It's designed to drop into a stock or reproduction instrument housing, which isn't included.

What the gauges cover

Analog readouts include a 0-160 MPH speedometer, a 0-8,000 RPM tachometer, 0-80 psi oil pressure, 100-260 degree water temperature, a fuel gauge, and a 9-17 VDC voltmeter, with the digital message center adding an odometer, dual trip meters, a clock, and performance readouts like 0-60 MPH time, quarter-mile time, and trap speed.

Sensors and installation

The kit includes a water temperature sensor, an oil pressure sensor, and a cable-driven speed sensor, each with a 10 ft harness, plus a set of NPT and metric bushings to adapt the sensors to different ports. Dakota Digital backs the VHX series with a limited lifetime warranty.

Does this include the gauge housing? No, it's built to fit a stock or reproduction housing, sold separately.

Is there a warranty? Yes, a limited lifetime warranty.

Performance Installation & Verification Checklist

  • Disconnect vehicle battery ground terminal before installing any electrical, sensor, or powertrain hardware.
  • Inspect all vacuum lines, fuel lines, and wiring harness connectors for secure, leak-free engagement.
  • Calibrate electronic sensors, boost control solenoids, and ECU maps according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform initial datalogging check under light load before subjecting vehicle to wide-open throttle.
