Details & Inspection Notes
This 454 big-block combo carries the same 563-horsepower, EFI-fed engine as BluePrint's automatic version, with a 5-speed TKX manual in place of the automatic. Torque is 545 lb-ft at a 10.5:1 compression ratio, and both the EFI calibration and the polished front-end hardware carry over from the automatic 454 unchanged.
What it is built for
Pick this 454 if you want a clutch pedal rather than an automatic transmission behind BluePrint's big-block build. The forged crankshaft, forged pistons, single-plane intake, and EFI tuning carry over unchanged from the automatic 454 package.
What to check before ordering
A McLeod Super Street Pro single-disc clutch does the shifting work here. That clutch assembly also brings a hydraulic throwout bearing, bellhousing, and billet flywheel, built with the stouter internals a big block needs rather than a small-block TKX spec. At 563 horsepower, double-check that your clutch linkage and driveline can handle a big block's torque before finishing this swap. California treats it as an engine-change installation rather than a stock replacement, so confirm compliance with the Bureau of Automotive Repairs first.
Common questions
What's the compression ratio? 10.5:1, the same as BluePrint's automatic 454 EFI combo.
Is a carburetor used? No, the Holley Sniper 2 EFI system supplies fuel here instead.
What's the torque rating? 545 lb-ft, the same as BluePrint's automatic 454 combo.
A big-block swap like this one changes engine mounts, cooling, and driveshaft length more than a small-block combo does, so measure your engine bay and tunnel before committing to the TKX conversion.
