Details & Inspection Notes

Same Standard Edition small-block as the carbureted combo above, 415 horsepower, 10.0:1 compression, but with a complete fuel injection system up front instead of a carburetor, bolted to a 4R70W automatic.

Fuel system and dress

Injection replaces the carburetor entirely here: fuel delivery is self-contained, its own pump kit and all, feeding a dual-plane intake and firing through a Pro Billet distributor, under Mustang-style valve covers and a 7-quart oil pan. Up front, the accessory package covers the alternator, the water pump, the compressor, and the power-steering pump together, belted and pulleyed before it ships.

Transmission side

Wiring on this 4R70W includes an electronic transmission controller plus the breakout harness needed to integrate with the EFI side, alongside the same torque converter, flexplate, and starter every 4R70W in this lineup ships with. It's rated to handle 650 horsepower as a 4-speed overdrive unit with lockup. Gear ratios run 2.84:1 in first to a 0.70:1 overdrive at the top. Forged I-beam rods and forged pistons turn on a 3.400-inch-stroke crank under HP9009 aluminum heads. Ford applications from 1968 through 2001 are what BluePrint builds this combination for, without EGR compatibility in mind.

What's the torque converter stall speed? BluePrint spec's it between 2,200 and 2,600 rpm, matched to this combination's power curve.
