Details & Inspection Notes
Badged for the Mustang crowd, this combo bolts a fuel-injected small-block rated at 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet to a 4R70W automatic, finished with a polished accessory drive rather than the black hardware BluePrint uses on some of its other combos.
Engine side
HP9009 aluminum heads sit atop a 10.0:1 short block: forged pistons, forged I-beam connecting rods at 5.400 inches, and a cast steel crank turning a longer 3.400-inch stroke than the Bronco combo above uses. A complete fuel injection system feeds the dual-plane intake, run through a Pro Billet distributor, with Mustang-scripted valve covers over a 7-quart oil pan. Polished billet pieces finish the front, covering the compressor and steering-pump mounts.
Transmission side
This 4R70W adds a breakout harness alongside its electronic controller, wiring the transmission into the EFI side, on top of the stall-speed torque converter, flexplate, and starter that come on every version of this box. It's a 4-speed overdrive unit with lockup capability, rated to 650 horsepower. BluePrint recommends 91-octane fuel and non-synthetic 10W30 oil for break-in, and this pairing is not designed around EGR compatibility.
Automatic or manual? This particular combo runs the 4R70W automatic; a manual gearbox version of this same engine is sold separately, in both black and polished accessory-drive finishes.
Does this need a special driveshaft? BluePrint doesn't call one out specifically for this combo, but always check driveshaft length and yoke style against your donor vehicle before bolting it in.
