Details & Inspection Notes

The VC01 is a remanufactured 350 base engine rated at 275 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque, built on a seasoned, two-piece-seal OE core rather than a new casting. It sits at the budget end of ATK's 350 lineup, using a flat-tappet camshaft instead of the roller cams found on the newer-core builds.

What "remanufactured" means here

ATK starts with a seasoned factory four-bolt-main block and rebuilds it with an OE cast crankshaft, internally balanced, and OE powder-metal connecting rods at 5.700 inches. This is a refurbished 350 small block, not a new-production engine, and it is positioned as a direct, no-frills replacement rather than a performance build.

Inside the long block

Bore goes up to 4.060 inches on a 3.480-inch stroke for 350 cubic inches. Cast iron heads pair 1.5-ratio rocker arms, stamped from steel, with hypereutectic pistons at 9.1:1 compression and a hydraulic flat-tappet camshaft. Ignition runs through an MSD HEI distributor. ATK's recommended carburetor and intake for this build are a Quick Fuel 680 CFM unit and a Weiand Stealth dual-plane, neither of which ships installed, and the recommended spark plugs are Champion units.

Q: Is this a new engine? No, it is remanufactured from a seasoned OE core rather than built from new castings.

That makes it a practical choice for a straightforward, budget-minded engine swap rather than a performance build.
