Details & Inspection Notes

This complete door shell reproduces the passenger-side door for a 1968 Camaro or Firebird, stamped to OE specifications for a full outer-panel replacement rather than a patch. It's meant for doors too far gone for sheet metal repair on their own, where swapping in a full shell makes more sense than welding in several smaller panel sections one at a time.

Moving hardware over

Regulator, handles, inner hardware, and latches aren't included in the shell; the plan is to remove those pieces from the old passenger door and reinstall them here, or buy replacements. Budget that labor into the job before starting, since a bare shell still needs all of its working hardware transferred before the door closes and locks properly.

Fitment

Listed for the passenger side of a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro and a 1968 Pontiac Firebird, which shared this door stamping for the model year.

Is the inner hardware included? No, the regulator, handles, latches, and related hardware get moved over or bought separately.

Does this fit a Firebird as well as a Camaro? Yes, both the 1968 Camaro and 1968 Firebird, passenger side.

Performance Installation & Verification Checklist

  • Disconnect vehicle battery ground terminal before installing any electrical, sensor, or powertrain hardware.
  • Inspect all vacuum lines, fuel lines, and wiring harness connectors for secure, leak-free engagement.
  • Calibrate electronic sensors, boost control solenoids, and ECU maps according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform initial datalogging check under light load before subjecting vehicle to wide-open throttle.
